1812/1 50C Large 8 AU50 PCGS. O-101, R.5. A very scarce and always-desirable variety among early Bust halves. This piece appears to be tied for second finest known with two other coins. This piece shows only the slightest trace of friction over the highpoints of the design. Otherwise, the surfaces are mostly charcoal-gray. The most notable marks are an X in front of Liberty's neck and a diagonal milling mark just to the right. A rare opportunity for the advanced collector of Bust halves. Not only is this an important R.5 die marriage, but it is also a distinct variety listed in the Guide Book. Such pieces are subject to heavy demand from intermediate level collectors, those with an interest in varieties who have not yet begun complete collections by individual die marriages.
From The Rocky Top Collection of Bust Half Dollars.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
