<B>1811 $5 Small 5 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Breen-6464, BD-2, R.3. Obverse State e, Reverse State b, both showing distinct evidence of clashing throughout (as struck). This is the sole obverse used for half eagles of this date, with the most obvious defining characteristic being the size and location of the 5 on the reverse, which is located below the rightmost arrow nock. This is a pale gold coin with hints of green color and two or three alloy spots visible. A good deal of luster is evident, and the strike is strong, with no areas of obvious weakness. A hint of rub is visible on Liberty's cheek, accounting for the grade.
