1810 C-1 R1 PCGS graded AU58+
1810 C-1 R1. PCGS graded AU-58 Plus. Sharpnessvery close to mint state but there are some faint hairline scratches on the face and neck. The only other mark of note is a minor planchet void on the edge at the top of the obverse, as struck. Otherwise this piece offers excellent eye appeal. Glossy chocolate brown with lots of frosty lighter steel brown toning in the protected areas, especially on the reverse. Sharply struck EDS, much sharper than most of this variety. The fields are hard and slightly reflective and the reverse is perfectly aligned head-to-foot with the obverse. Obviously one of the first struck of this date. Our grade is AU50. The attribution and Carvin Goodridge provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the finest is MS63 (#35236).
Estimated Value $600-UP.

Provenance: Ex Jerry Cohen-Roger S. Cohen, Jr., Superior 2/2/1992:285 (lot ticket included).
