<B>1810 50C MS61 NGC.</B></I> O-101a, R.1. This piece is similar in both grade and die state to an example sold by another firm in December 2005, but it is not the same coin. Both sides have fully lustrous ivory surfaces with peripheral gold and iridescent toning. The obverse is slightly weak at the shoulder and drapery clasp, and the reverse is a trifle soft at the top of the left (facing) wing. Otherwise, the remaining design details are bold and crisp. A few faint hairlines are evident in the fields, especially at the left obverse, and obviously explain the limited grade of this attractive half dollar.
