<B>1810<$5> Large Date, Large 5 MS63 NGC.</B></I> Breen-6459, BD-4, R.2. An exceptionally clean early half eagle that shows frosted mint luster and lovely chartreuse color. The strike is sharp on the obverse with full hair curls and complete radials on the stars, although star 1 touches a dentil and the E in LIBERTY is weak. The reverse is not quite as sharp as the obverse with some localized weakness on the arrow feathers and left (facing) talons of the eagle. The surfaces overall are very clean with only minor abrasions noted. There are some die lines in the center of the obverse, but these are minor and certainly not distracting. A small planchet bulge is noted to the right of obverse star 4. One of the more available dates among the Capped Bust Left series, but scarce in this condition.<BR><I>From The Clifton Rodenburg Collection.</B></I>
