1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5 MS61 NGC. B. 1-A, Miller-109, R.2. As the rarity factor perhaps reveals, the 1810 Large Date, Large 5 Half Eagle is the most plentiful variety of the Capped Bust Left type in today's market. This important Mint State survivor should have little difficulty finding its way into a type set of early federal era gold. Green-gold in color with a well frosted finish for the grade, the surfaces reveal a few grade-defining abrasions on both sides. There is, however, little problem with the impression, although we do note some softness of detail in isolated peripheral areas and a few rollermarks (as produced) that did not strike out on the obverse over the E in LIBERTY. Nevertheless, this coin presents uncommonly well for an early Five Dollar at the MS61 grade level. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
