<B>1809 50C XXX Edge XF45 NGC.</B></I> O-110, R.4. The combination of a scarce variety and an unusual edge type equals a coin of exceptional desirability. These pieces are routinely called "experimental edges" although Edgar Souders agrees with those who feel that these markings may have been an attempt to repair the edge dies. In <I>Bust Half Fever,</B></I> he wrote: "the edges are interesting and there is not an over-abundance of 1809 CBH's surviving that exhibit these characteristics." Of course, CBH is an abbreviation for Capped Bust Halves.
