Sharpness VF20 but microscopic granularity covers the planchet and there are some shallow pitmarks around the bust tip. In addition, there are some fine pinscratches on the obverse, all blending with the natural patina, which is a slightly glossy mix of dark olive, chocolate, and steel brown. Double Struck, and the planchet was flipped over between impressions. The initial strike was 35% off center to K-2. The misstruck cent was then flipped over and placed back into the press and properly struck. Strong evidence of the initial impression shows before the portrait, where the E in ONE and NT in CENT, along with some of the wreath leaves, are obvious. On the reverse, the head of Ms. Liberty, including all of LIBERTY on the headband, and the 08 of the date all show clearly at UNITED ST. This is not the most attractive Turban Head cent in existence, but the error is one of the most dramatic.
