Five to ten points sharper but there are a few patches of microscopic roughness on the reverse. No verdigris or notable contact marks. Lightly cleaned and nicely retoned a glossy medium brown and chocolate. Late die state and broadstruck, a dramatic mint error resulting in a very large 30.5 millimeter diameter cent. Great eye appeal in spite of the minor defects. This cent is plated in Breen's "Oops" chapter of his large cent book, page 841, where he describes the types of mint errors found on early large cents. One of the finest examples known of this extremely rare type of early cent error.
