<B>1808 $5 MS61 NGC.</B></I> Close 5D, Breen-6456, BD-3, R.4. The terminal die state with prominent clash marks on both sides. The new Bass-Dannreuther reference mentions a "crack from the last A of AMERICA through denomination," but this may refer to the bold clash mark from the upper outline of the cap. A sharply struck and unblemished early half eagle with significant billowing luster. No marks are remotely worthy of individual description.
