A popular and collectable copper George III Penny, dated 1807 and struck at the Soho Mint in Birmingham under Matthew Boulton’s innovative steam press. The obverse features the laureate and draped bust of the King George the Third facing right. The reverse shows an image of Britannia in drapery, seated on a rock surrounded by waves, a warship with three masts in the distance. By her side is a shield bearing the Union Jack.
