<B>1807 50C Large Stars, 50 Over 20 AU55 ANACS.</B></I> O-112, R.1. This new half dollar design was initially referred to as the "Turban Head" type, but eventually the term "Capped Bust half dollar" became more prominent. Actually, Liberty wears what was called a "mobcap"; a commonplace indoor adornment for American women in the 18th and early 19th centuries. This Choice AU example is still lustrous and is generally well struck, except on parts of the eagle. Faint peripheral toning is noted on each side.
