1807 25C AU55 PCGS. B-1, R.2. Die State II. This is an exceptionally well preserved coin for the grade with steel-gray patina that lightens to golden-gray hues toward the centers. With the exception of some of the denticles around the borders, the strike is appreciably bold for the type, and the wear is both light and confined to the higher points of the design. The smooth surfaces are uncommonly abrasion-free for an early U.S. silver coin that saw actual circulation. Clashmarks (as struck) from the bottom of Liberty's portrait are seen in the upper right reverse field, and from the beginning of the reverse scroll in the lower left obverse field. The 1807 (220,643 pieces produced) is the final issue in the Draped Bust Quarter series. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
