<B>1807 $2 1/2 --Obverse Scratched--NCS. Unc Details.</B></I> Breen-6124, BD-1, R.3. The 1807 quarter eagle has the highest mintage of any issue from the early series that was struck between 1796 and 1834, yet only 6,812 pieces were coined. Faint scratches in the right obverse field, mentioned by NCS, are the only imperfections on either side of this otherwise pleasing piece. Both sides have fully lustrous and frosty green-gold surfaces with no trace of wear. The strike is sharp and nicely centered with complete obverse and reverse borders, an unusual feature on these coins.
