1806 50C Pointed 6, Stem VF20 PCGS. O-124, R.6. The 1
1806<50C> Pointed 6, Stem VF20 PCGS. O-124, R.6. The 1 and 6 in the date are attached to the curl and the bust, and star 13 is quite close to the bust. The reverse shows the E in STATES is clearly over an A, and there are five berries, the upper two directly opposite each other and lacking stems. AME is joined, with AM solid. This attractive and very rare half dollar offers light silver-gray surfaces that show a noteworthy lack of abrasions. Despite 40 points of wear, there are no rim bumps, scrapes, or other mentionable distractions. A VF Details specimen in an NCS encapsulation sold in our Jules Reiver Collection auction in January 2006 for $6,325. This coin appears to be not quite equal in overall sharpness to that coin, but it has better overall eye appeal and marketability, and is of (of course) encapsulated in a PCGS holder.
