<B>1806 50C Knobbed 6, Small Stars VF35 PCGS.</B></I> O-107, R.5. Second use of this Small Stars obverse, the obverse die remained uncracked. This single-use reverse is most easily attributed by the five-berry stem and the position of the leaf that points to the left side of the base of the I in AMERICA. Curiously, while only used once this reverse began to crack in that single die marriage. This is an early state of O-107a with a faint die crack connecting the tops of UN. The usual 107a shows cracks through the tops of all the letters in UNITED. A couple of coins are also known with a reverse cud, which would explain the early retirement of this reverse.<BR> The surfaces have a pleasing, even gray patina over each side. There are no marks of note, and the only area of weakness is from the middle of the reverse stars through clouds 6 and 7 and continuing to the bottom of the F. Even wear throughout. <BR> The grades of reported examples of both O-107 and O-107a are virtually identical.
