1806 25C AU58 NGC. B-2, R.4. Pale silver surfaces that are quite lustrous for the grade. A few touches of wear, most noticeably at the neck and shoulder of the bust, and a small contact mark in the field below the chin. Approximately Die State IV: this piece was struck from very late dies, and exhibits a number of prominent reverse die cracks, as well as clash marks from the bust on the shield of the eagle that has also caused the top of the shield and head to soften a bit. An attractive specimen with nice color and surfaces, and an example of a rare, much later die state of this already scarce variety. From the John Adams Collection.
