1806<1/2 C> Small 6, No Stems MS64 Brown NGC. C-1, B-3, R.1. The last of the Stemless Draped Bust half cent varieties. A lustrous near-Gem with pleasing chocolate and medium brown toning. Frosty tan on each side is faded from original mint red. A couple of minor, brief marks are found near the wreath ribbons, but the overall appearance is refreshingly unblemished. Well struck save for the left portion of UNITED and LIBERTY. Clashed near Liberty's profile and beneath her hair ribbon. Ron Manley commented: "It is my opinion that the obverse clash marks always seen with this variety are the result of an earlier clashing during the 1806 C-3 mintage with its reverse die." EAC 62. Census: 14 in 64 Brown, 4 finer (9/06).
