1806 1/2 C Large 6, Stems MS63 Red and Brown PCGS. B-4, C-4, R.1. With slight striking softness over the upper reverse, this coin most likely traces its pedigree to the hoard of Mint State 1806 B-4 Half Cents that the Chapman brothers dispersed in 1906. The balance of the devices are appreciably bold with good centering and a relative lack of abrasions. The otherwise toned, medium brown surfaces reveal warm orange-red luster in the more protected areas around the peripheries. A couple of scattered carbon spots are noted, these apparently accounting for the MS63 designation. This is a perfect candidate to represent the Draped Bust Half Cent in an Uncirculated type set. From the John Adams Collection.
