1805 C-3 R4 Small 5 with Stems PCGS graded F12
1805 C-3 R4 Small 5 with Stems. PCGS graded Fine-12. Slightly sharper but there are some extremely faint hairline scratches in the hair and inside the wreath. All the hairlines blend nicely into the rather glossy chocolate and steel toning and the eye appeal of this piece is excellent. MDS, Manley state 2.0. The field before the portrait is obviously swollen. The reverse of this example is plated in the Gilbert reference on half cents (plate III, reverse 4). A nice example of a scarce type that seldom comes with decent surfaces. Our grade is VG10. The attribution and Carvin Goodridge provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 in F15 with only 4 graded for the variety at PCGS (#35185).
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.
