This advanced state of the reverse die is easily distinguishable by the retained cud through STATES, obliterating the E and part of the final S, and causing other letters to be weaker than normal. The lower part of the obverse is weakened as a result, particularly 18 and the lowest curl.<BR> Cleaned with light silver obverse and reverse surfaces that are mostly free of any abrasions.<BR> Very scarce as such. Only three pieces are recorded on Stephen Herrman's <I>Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized</B></I>.
