1805<50C> O-106, R.3. Fine 15 NGC. A mix of gray, pink, beige, and light blue coloration overlays semi-bright surfaces that reveal just a few minute contact marks. The design elements retain considerable definition, and are well centered on the planchet. Adjustment marks are noted on portions of the reverse, especially through the right side of the constellation and at the bottom of the shield. A difficult aspect of numismatics is distinguishing between adjustment marks and scratches. Usually, adjustment marks are parallel or criss-cross, and almost always, they create weakness on the opposite side of the coin. In this case, Liberty's bust, which is almost completely void of detail, is opposite the right side of the constellation. This opposing weakness is caused by a slight thinning of the planchet, thus not retaining enough metal to completely fill the dies.
Ex: Julian Leidman (3/1979). Envelope Included.
