1805<50C> O-104a, Low R.5. Fine 12 NGC. The fine die crack described in Overton that connects the stars along the left border in O-104 now encircles the entire obverse periphery. Close examination will reveal that this is actually a series of cracks rather than a single crack as described by Overton. The right obverse has co-joined rim breaks; a retained cud is over star 10, joining a point of star 9, and a full rim break over stars 11 and 12. On the 104a, fine die cracks also extend through portions of the peripheral legend. The coin in this lot displays electric-blue and lavender coloration that is confined mainly to the fields, and rose-pink patination on the motifs. Light circulation marks are noted on the fields of both sides. Central weakness is evident on both sides, as is weakness over AME, exactly opposite the rim breaks.
Ex: Julian Leidman (3/1979). Envelope Included.
