This coin was struck from an advanced state of the die, as the diagnostic circular die crack through STATES and the upper portion of the clouds has developed into a retained cud. The retained cud on the reverse is the cause for unusual weakness on the 18 in the date and the lowest hair curl. The late die state was not described by Overton, and is considered R.7.
