<B>1805 $5 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Close Date, Breen-6445, BD-2, R.4. Substantial bright luster bathes this pleasing near-Mint Heraldic Eagle five dollar piece. The strike is intricate save for the junction of the shield and left (facing) wing. Surprisingly smooth, since no marks are evident to the unaided eye, and the use of a loupe only reveals an inconspicuous pinscratch above Liberty's forehead curl. The eye appeal is equal to many examples certified as Mint State, although a hint of friction on the cap and drapery prevents an Uncirculated assessment. Slender radial die cracks through the 0 in the date and obverse star 13 converge southwest of Liberty's ear.
