1805 $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. Breen-6121, BD-1, R.4. A band of bright luster connects the stars and legends. The devices also display substantial luster. A few mint-made roller marks cross Liberty's hair, but the surfaces are uncommonly smooth for the grade save for light vertical hairlines on the right obverse field. Rich apricot toning graces open areas, while the radiant margins are yellow. Light friction on the cheek and clothing is all that prevents a finer grade. The 1805 has a tiny reported mintage of 1,781 pieces, most of which were melted long ago. Many survivors have problems, unlike the present piece, which deserves placement within a quality early gold type set. Encapsulated in an old green label holder.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
