1805 10C 4 Berries MS61 PCGS. JR-2, R.2. The more common of the two known die marriages of the 1805 Dime, JR-2 constitutes about 70% of the extant population of the issue. The 1805 JR-2 is also the most common Draped Bust Dime along with the final-year 1807. These facts notwithstanding, the 1805 JR-2 is scarce in Mint State when compared to the number of high grade type collectors in today's hobby. This is a pleasingly original survivor with rich, mottled, cobalt-blue and crimson-gray toning. True, the strike is a little uneven, but all features are discernible, and there is emerging definition over most of Liberty's hair curls and over the eagle's neck feathers. There are no outwardly distracting handling marks. From the Hans Poetsch Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
