1804 C-7 R4 Spiked Chin PCGS graded AU58
1804 C-7 R4 Spiked Chin. PCGS graded AU-58. Choice lustrous light olive brown with hints of very faded mint color showing in a few of the protected places on the reverse. A premium example, just a hint of rub on the highest points from mint state. The only marks are a faint hairline scratch down the neck, a thin nick hidden in the drapery folds above the 04 in the date, and a short struck-through line under the first A in AMERICA (as struck). EDS, Manley state 1.0. The reverse is uncracked and the fields on that side are slightly reflective. The Spiked Chin feature is clear. This is the Manley plate coin for the variety (the large photos). Our grade is AU55. Tied with one other example for finest known honors. The PCGS label includes the Cohen-7 die variety and Carvin Goodridge provenance. PCGS population 1; finest graded at PCGS for the variety (#35164).
Estimated Value $8,000-UP.
