<B>1804 $2 1/2 14 Star Reverse--Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details.</B></I> Breen-6119, BD-2, R.4. The NCS holder states the variety is "13 Stars" without a further obverse or reverse notation. There are two die varieties for the 1804, a rare 14 Stars Reverse (this coin is an example) and a very rare 13 Stars Reverse. Both varieties have 13 obverse stars, not surprising since they share the same obverse die. This sharp example exhibits mint-made roller marks on the lower reverse, but is glossy and hairlined from a thorough cleaning.
