<B>1804<1C>--Corroded--NCS. XF Details.</B></I> S-266, B-1, R.2. Only a single die marriage is known for the 1804 cent, discounting the out-of-mint "restrike" muled from discarded and altered mint dies. This subjects Sheldon-266 to formidable demand from date collectors. The present dark brown piece is rough but retains most design detail. The often seen cuds over RTY and MERIC are noted, and the die rotation aligns the 0 in 1804 with the O in OF, another diagnostic for the important issue. EAC 8.
