1803 S-262 R3 Small Date and Fraction VF25+Mostly glossy olive brown and steel with lighter brown toning on the devices. The glossy on the obverse is subdued thanks to uniform extremely faint granularity while the reverse is perfectly smooth and highly glossy. A light vertical nick on the leaf over the E in ONE is the best identifying mark. This cent has very nice eye appeal in spite of the limited gloss on the obverse. MDS, Breen state II, with the usual die line slanting up through the bust, but the reverse is uncracked. The fields on the reverse are hard and slightly reflective thanks to the new die. Graded VF25 and tied for CC#5 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF25 and tied for CC#4, his photo #25674.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex Charles R.
