This use appears to be the latest state of the reverse, with the area at the left wing tip slightly raised between the die crack and the heavy flowline just above it. Current rarity estimates suggest that Dave Bowers' estimate of 300 to 550 examples is accurate, a realistic figure being between 300 and 400 survivors. Like this piece, most of the known examples are in the Fine to XF range, although several AU coins are also known. Deeply toned with gray-brown color, gunmetal-blue peripheral toning, and deep maroon on the devices. A few minor scratches and small circulation marks are visible beneath the toning. Traces of underlying luster are visible on both sides.<BR><I>Ex: I.
