<B>1803/2<$5> AU58 NGC.</B></I> Breen-6441, BD-2, R.5. A lovely, fully lustrous near-Mint example of this scarce variety with vibrant green-gold color and only a few abrasions. This example is a late die state with faint obverse die cracks and a prominent bisecting die crack on the reverse. The research efforts of Harry W. Bass, Jr. and others have solved the riddle of two different overdate obverse dies for the 1803/2 half eagle. Only four different varieties are known for this date, three from the first obverse and one from the second obverse.
