Our EAC Grade AU55.<BR><BR>Equivalents. </B></I>McGirk 10D; Ross 21; Newcomb 8; EAC 8; <I>Encyclopedia </B></I>1754; PCGS #1482.<BR><B><BR>Appearances. </B></I>The obverse and reverse are illustrated in Noyes (1991) and in Breen's <I>Large Cent Encyclopedia</B></I>.<BR><BR><B>Variety. </B></I>Small Date. 18 close, 1 and 3 low, incomplete shoulder loop. Small Fraction. Low fraction bar, pierced berry below E of UNITED. The obverse appears on S-250, S-251, and NC-1. The reverse appears on S-250 and S-252.<BR><BR><B>Surfaces.</B></I> Lustrous light brown and olive with some lighter tan that represents faded mint red. Slightly deeper brown on the reverse with traces of orange mint color. Nicely detailed for the variety with complete, narrow borders on both sides.<BR><BR><B>Die State I. </B></I>The usual die state for this variety.<BR><BR><B>Provenance. </B></I><I>Howard R.
