1802 S-237 R2 PCGS graded AU58Glossy steel brown and chocolate with frosty light steel brown in the fields and protected areas. A sharp cent with just a light touch of friction on the highpoints, but there are several notable marks. There is a dull rim nick at the I in LIBERTY, another left of that L, two more at TES, a dull dig at the base of ES, and another over NE in ONE. In addition there is an area of planchet roughness in the hair left of the shoulder, probably as struck but it still counts. MDS, Breen state V, with fine die cracks on the reverse. Graded AU55 net EF40 and tied for CC#12 in the Noyes census, his photo #28026. Our grade is EF45+ sharpness net EF40. Looks really nice at first glance.Certificate Number: 36320.58/52085740Pedigree: Ex R. Clay 1989-Denis W. Loring-Thomas D. Reynolds-Tom Morey-G. Lee Kuntz, Superior 10/6/1991:789-Anthony J.
