1802 S-236 R1 PCGS graded AU58Frosty steel brown with lighter brown and golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas and darker steel brown on the highpoints. Essentially flawless with very light friction on the devices and great eye appeal. A faint spot of slightly darker brown toning connecting the bases of the O & N in ONE can help identify this cent. Terminal die state, Breen IX, with a cud break connecting ST to the rim and strong die clashmarks before the throat. Graded AU50 net EF45 and tied for CC#9 overall in the Noyes census but third finest of the terminal state, his photo #29864. Our grade is EF45.Certificate Number: 36317.58/61275973Pedigree: Ex William C. Noyes-Fred H. Borcherdt Collection
