Large Cents 1802 S-238 R4 VF25. <b>Sharpness of EF40 but there is a rim bump opposite the chin plus lighter rim bruises at L in LIBERTY and NI in UNITED. There are a few light contact marks scattered about both sides, including a thin diagonal nick on the chin and a couple dull, light scratches over ENT in CENT. Glossy dark olive brown with lighter brown toning in protected areas, probably from an old recoloring. MDS, Breen state III. Called net VF30 and tied for CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says net VF25 and tied for CC#4. This is the Breen plate coin. A scarce variety that just doesn't come choice or in high grade.</b> Ex New England Rare Coin Galleries-Denis Loring 3/18/74-C.
