Production in 1802 of 29,890 half dollars was completed using a single obverse die and a single reverse die which was first placed into use in 1801 (Reverse B). This Choice XF example displays traces of luster residing in the recesses of the light silver-gray surfaces. The design elements retain relatively strong definition.
