Large berries. The obverse appears on S-237 and S-238. The reverse appears on S-237.<BR><B><BR>Surfaces.</B></I> Although somewhat blunt on the profile and among several leaves, the overall appearance is excellent, with all remaining details sharply defined. Attractive and lustrous golden-brown surfaces with hints of pale olive toning on the obverse, and remnants of mint red on the reverse. A small orange toning spot is evident in the field at the base of the neck.<BR><B><BR>Die State V. </B></I>The obverse arc crack remains light, clash marks are somewhat faded, and the reverse is cracked vertically through the right interior part of the wreath, with an arc crack below and other minor cracks.<BR><B><BR>Appearances. </B></I>The reverse is illustrated in <I>Early American Cents</B></I> and in <I>Penny Whimsy</B></I>. The obverse and reverse are illustrated in Noyes (1991) and in Breen's <I>Large Cent Encyclopedia</B></I>.<BR><BR><B>Census. </B></I>Relatively common, although S-237 is scarcer than S-236. Just four Mint State pieces are known, including this coin from the Husak Collection, and another in the ANS Collection.<BR><BR><B>Provenance. </B></I><I>Howard R. Newcomb (J.C.
