1802<10C> XF40 PCGS. JR-3, R.6. Easily distinguished by the diagnostic die crack through the CA of AMERICA. With an original mintage of only 10,975 pieces, the 1802 is a difficult issue to locate in all grades, let alone this very difficult die pairing. Each side presents a somewhat subdued, deep steel-gray appearance with a slight mottling of color. The reverse die is slightly misaligned to the right side, however, most of the details on each side are well struck. The only mark of note is a small abrasion on Liberty's chin, this being mentioned primarily as a future pedigree identifier. An important offering for the Draped Bust dime specialist.
