1802 10C XF40 PCGS. JR-2, R.5. Star 7 nearly touches the L and star 8 nearly touches the Y in LIBERTY. Die lines close both loops of the small 2 in the date. On the reverse the stars are arranged 6-5-1-1, and T3 is over the left quarter of cloud 3. Although rare, this is the second most common of 1802 dime varieties, constituting about 30% of examples seen, according to Early United States Dimes 1796-1837. Moderate luster still graces the surfaces, which are lightly coated with amber-gold, russet, and steel-gray patina. Die misalignment is responsible for weakness through the eagle's tail feathers and UNI, and on the obverse at BE. Both sides are free from any singular distractions, and the fields show only light chatter consistent with the grade.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
