<B>1802/1 S$1 Narrow Date XF45 NGC.</B></I> B-4, BB-232, R.4. Die State II. Narrow overdate, 1 joins curl; leaf point below left base of I. The obverse has a light crack at the bust near star 13 and the reverse has a die crack from the second feather to the border at 10 o'clock. Just above this crack, flowlines join the top feather to the border. This is a scarce variety, probably known to the extent of about 150 pieces, despite the much higher estimate of 400 to 750 coins by Bowers. Considerable luster is present on each side with light silver-gray color across much of the obverse and reverse. Both sides, especially the obverse, have peripheral russet and sea-green toning.
