This overdate variety shows a "pocket" at Liberty's throat and a "collar" at the neckline, the result of clashed dies. There is a small dot beneath the nose. The reverse shows only 12 arrowheads plainly, and the eagle bites down on a star point back a bit from the extreme end. The first A in AMERICA meets the third feather, and a die crack connects it to the fourth. There is deep pinkish-gray toning in the centers, with iridescent steel-blue and jade-green at the borders, beneath which considerable luster radiates. The toning covers a couple of small obverse scrapes that can be seen under a loupe, but otherwise the coin is attractive and problem-free.
