Forest-green tints enrich the borders, while the highpoints offer steel-blue tints and the fields display light tan-gray toning. A boldly impressed early dollar with full satin luster and only minimal marks. A few moderate adjustment marks, as made, are present on the eagle's shield, and a trace of greenish residue is noted near the eagle's right (facing) claw. The 1 underdigit is prominent; apparently no attempt was made at the mint to remove it from the die. Although it must be stated that NGC has only designated the die variety within the past few years, the grading service has seen just eight examples of BB-232, as of (1/06). Just two of these grade Mint State, the present piece and a solitary MS63.
