1801<50C> XF45 PCGS. O-101, R.3. The 1801 and 1802 are the two most difficult dates within the Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle type. For the 1801, only two die marriages are known, and since the O-102 is seldom seen, Overton-101 usually represents the date. The variety is quickly recognized by the die blobs on the lower left reverse. This bright and lightly toned example retains glimmers of luster within the hair, shield, and wings. The upper right reverse stars are softly struck, as usual for the type. Population: 11 in 45, 10 finer (4/06).
