1801 $10 AU55 PCGS. Breen-6843, Taraszka-25, BD-2, R.2. Just two eagle varieties were coined with the 1801 date. The other variety, BD-1, ranks as Rarity-5 while the BD-2 marriage offered here is listed as R.2 and the only early eagle that has a rarity below the R.3 level. It is the most plentiful of all early eagles, thus an ideal candidate for type collectors. This piece is housed in an older green-label holder with a honey-gold obverse and pale green-gold reverse. The fields on both sides are slightly prooflike and the surfaces are nearly mark-free. It appears that this is an early die state, without clash marks, die cracks, or evidence of die lapping.

Coin Engraver: Robert Scot

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
