<B>1801 $10 AU55 PCGS.</B></I> Breen-6843, Taraszka-25, BD-2, R.2. According to Harry Bass, this variety can be distinguished by: "OBV: New large star punch, type III 1, first usage. Star 1 away from curl, star 8 close to cap. Star 9 away from Y, star 13 very close to bust. Star 9 has spine pointed at Y. Nine vertical spines in cap. Rust lump at denticle between stars 2 & 3. REV: That of 1803/A. Lumps at bottoms of left serifs of T(A) and (T)A. A(M) rests on feather tip. Lapped."<BR> This is an especially well struck example that shows even, strong definition on Liberty's hair curls as well as the eagle's plumage. The surfaces are bright yellow-gold with an accent of reddish patina around the margins.
