1801 $10 AU50 PCGS. Breen-6843, Taraszka-25, BD-2, R.2. The 1801 BD-2 is the most common of early eagles produced from 1797 to 1804. Star 8 has two points oriented toward Liberty's cap, and the eagle's beak nearly touches star 13 at its top. The two lowest left stars on the obverse are softly struck on this piece. This example show still-lustrous canary-gold centers that deepen to amber-gold near the peripheries. A bit of highpoint rub is visible as a color change on the cheek and highpoints of the hair, and a bit of light field chatter is consistent with the grade. A small dig is noted through the I in LIBERTY. An excellent choice for a type coin.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
