WOW, I'm not sure how to describe this item, I seem to have a more difficult time with the older things. This appears to be 1800s sometime is my guess? It is sterling or gold or gold over sterling? Not quite sure but it appears to be a gold color and it has alot of patina on it because of its age or possibly sterling underneath? The flower on the front is a GUILLOCHE Enamel it is in excellent condition with no wear at all, there is enamel on the bow on the top piece, there is slight wear to the enamel on the bow, but this could probably be easily repaired, but I dont know why a person would want to change this, I like it just the way it is. this is movable by the way of 2 gold colored clasps that look like Edwardian type designed clasps? Behind the bow is the brooch. The bottom flower when flipped over has a open area like a locket or something but it does not open that I can see? There are white crystal type stones inside, like a mustard seed type brooch but I do not know what kind of stones these are. Very old and in excellent condition except the very minor wear of enamel on the bow part. Look at the gold weaving type metal around the lower piece. Definetely 1800s
