1800 S-210 R5+ PCGS graded XF40Glossy light olive brown and chocolate. Smooth with very nice eye appeal and just a few contact marks, the only significant one being a diagonal nick under the hair ribbon. The strike is uneven, a universal characteristic of the latest die state. Most of the cent would grade VF20 and choice, but the strike weakness at the lowest curl and the opposing area at TED ST affects the overall grade. TDS, Breen state VIII, with a die crack at the top of the obverse and a bold cud break at AME on the reverse. This is the finest example of the terminal die state known to us. Graded F15 and CC#5 overall in the Bland census. Noyes says VF20 and tied for CC#4 overall but finest of the die state, his photo #26687. Our grade is F15+, very close to VF20. This is the Noyes plate coin for the terminal die state in his 1991 reference.Certificate Number: 36218.40/61275964Pedigree: Ex George Ramont-Fred H.
